Refunds, cancellations, and deposits

Last updated: 4 August 2026

Scope

These terms apply to fee-paying consultations and related advisory engagements with Cedarside Tax Advisory, including Personal Tax Planning, Self Assessment Filing Support, Limited Company Tax Reviews, and HMRC Correspondence Guidance. They do not cover goods, software licences, or products we do not sell.

Eligibility for a refund

If we cancel an engagement before substantive work begins, you receive a full refund of fees and deposits paid for that engagement. If you cancel more than five working days before a scheduled consultation and no written advice work has started, we refund fees paid less any non-refundable deposit stated in your fee confirmation.

Timeframe

Cancellation notices should be sent to hello@dataset-index.digital as soon as practicable. Refund requests are acknowledged within five working days.

Full and partial refunds

Full refunds apply when no chargeable work has occurred. Partial refunds may apply when preliminary document review has started but the consultation has not yet taken place; the retained portion reflects time already spent and is confirmed in writing. After a consultation has been delivered, fees for that session are not refundable.

Non-refundable items

Disbursements paid to third parties on your behalf (for example official extract fees, if agreed) are non-refundable once incurred. Fixed deposits marked as non-refundable in the fee letter remain so when cancellation is within five working days of the meeting or after work has begun.

Work already started

Once we have opened your file, reviewed documents, or drafted advice, fees for completed stages remain payable. Unused stages of a multi-part engagement may be credited or refunded by agreement.

Rescheduling and no-shows

You may reschedule once without charge if you give at least two working days’ notice. Shorter notice or failure to attend may forfeit the consultation fee or deposit for that slot. We will offer a new date subject to diary capacity.

Refund process and method

Approved refunds are returned to the original bank account used for payment within fourteen working days of approval. We do not issue cash refunds.

How to request a refund

Email hello@dataset-index.digital with your name, invoice number, engagement type, and reason. You may also call +44-7-488-8342 or write to 7025 Goyette Union, Purdywood, England, United Kingdom.

Exceptions

Statutory cooling-off rights for consumers, where applicable under UK law, are not limited by this page. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot be excluded by law.
