1. Data controller
Cedarside Tax Advisory is the data controller for personal data collected through https://dataset-index.digital and during UK financial advice and consulting engagements. Contact: hello@dataset-index.digital, +44-7-488-8342, 7025 Goyette Union, Purdywood, England, United Kingdom.
2. Data we collect
We may collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address, enquiry details, tax-related documents you send us, and correspondence records. Technical data such as IP address and basic analytics may be collected if you accept analytics cookies — see our cookies page.
3. Purposes and lawful bases
We process data to respond to enquiries, deliver engagements, issue invoices, meet legal and regulatory duties (including tax adviser record-keeping), and improve the website where analytics are enabled. Lawful bases include contract performance, legitimate interests in operating a professional practice, consent where required for optional cookies, and legal obligation.
4. Retention
Enquiry messages without an engagement are typically kept for up to 24 months. Client engagement files are retained for at least seven years after the engagement ends, or longer where HMRC or professional rules require. Cookie preference records remain until you clear browser storage or change preference.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share information with secure email and document storage providers, accountants or solicitors you authorise, HMRC when required, or professional indemnity insurers where necessary. Processors act under written instructions.
6. International transfers
Where tools store data outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses, and we limit transfers to what the service requires.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to certain processing. You may withdraw cookie consent at any time. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). To exercise rights, email hello@dataset-index.digital.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission is perfectly secure; please use encrypted channels when sending sensitive tax documents if we provide one.
